How are the pages on this site written and checked?
Each page answers a specific question, in plain words, based on studies cited at the bottom of the page. Figures without a precise source are marked "to be verified". Each page shows its last update date, and reported errors are corrected.
Who writes the site?
Metabolive is a personal, independent project run by Stéphane R., with no ads and no product to sell. Texts and animations are prepared with the help of software tools, then reviewed by the author before publication. No page is reviewed by a doctor for now, which is why every page points you to medical advice.
How are sources chosen?
- First, study reviews and agency reports (EFSA, HAS, the French health authority), then the original studies for precise figures.
- Each reference links to its PubMed record, its DOI or the official report, never to a mere search.
- A result seen only in animals is presented as such.
How is a page updated?
The date at the top of each page is that of its last change. When a newer study changes a conclusion, the page is rewritten and the new source added. "To be verified" notes are replaced by a source as soon as one is found.
How do I report an error?
By email: metabolive.repose708@passmail.com. Give the page and the sentence concerned and, if possible, a source.
What the site does not do
- It does not diagnose and does not recommend treatment.
- It does not show made-up reviews or testimonials.
- It does not set advertising cookies.
